You like to play obtuse a lot.
No, not plying obtuse at all. I'm using a bit of sarcasm to make the point that you can't single out one player and say that player went 8-8 and pretend the record has nothing to do with anyone else. The QB isn't playing a game of one on one. He may play the most important position, but there are a lot of other positions and coaches and planning - in all there is a hell of a lot that goes into winning and losing outside of who the QB is.

The more interesting quote from Jerry:

" ... If anyone has ever taken advantage of me financially, I’m proud it’s the one sitting next to me on the right."

Then Machota's analysis:

"Jones understands that Prescott and his representatives won this deal."

Do ya think?
The agent literally got everything he asked and also forced the Cowboys to waste the 2nd franchise tag on Dak right before he signed. But the Cowboys literally had no other option because France was going to push it to next year if he had to which would have been 50 million 3rd tag or free agency. Most agents don't push it like this, it didn't need to get to this point, there was no compromise.

LOL, you were ready to leave it if paid 35 million but at 42 million “I’m not going to leave it”?

sure

true leader
What kind of bs is this? When did he say he wanted to leave?

If anything, he has been the exact opposite of what you claim.

He has kept to the high road his entire career. Never complained, never cried, and when the front office started leaking stuff or spreading disinformation he didn’t say a word.

He’s been utterly professional in this whole mess and your post is just ridiculous

This is the sort of comment that causes me to look for the Bisodol tablets. I wouldn't leave Texas and the 2nd largest contract in the NFL either. He will be all prepared to up sticks in 3 years time if he doesnt get the money and respect then though. Honestly its bull.
Just play well Dak and justify the contract and win a SB, that all the fans want.

Fans wanted Romo to win a SB too, but Jerry couldnt build the defensive side of the ball. Until that happens, wont matter who the QB is.

Why are we having an argument over an obvious pr speak statement? What was he supposed to say? "Well guys, I was about to leave until Jerry filled my bank account with money!'

How do you compare a guard with a QB when the QB is the one charged with running the offense so it's on the shoulders of Dak and not Martin......talk about a stretch.

I didn't compare an OG with a QB, I said the OG went 8-8 just like the QB. Do you think Dak went 8-8 and Zack Martin went 11-5 in the same season? If so, explain how that works.

I also said the QB plays the most important position, so I did not put them on the same level. Did you miss that part, or just ignore it to have an argument?

That doesn't change the fact all are pieces in the overall puzzle. As I indicated before, the QB may be a more important piece than others, but he is still a piece and not the entire puzzle. Again, a QB is not playing a game of 1 on 1. There are a lot of important players, coaches and management decisions, and even the smaller pieces collectively add up to have meaning.

Yeah, whatever happened to names like the Doomsday, and Steel Curtain, and Fearsome Foursome? I think part of this is the times. In those days they were describing the unit - the collective of the defense. Today things like Hot Boyz is supposed to focus on the individuals in the unit rather than the collective of the unit.
