I think it depends on the nature of what was done. A man was murdered. He at the very least knew his friends shot at the guy. But never mind that. He can maybe help the team. Let him play! That's how you guys come across.

People arent defending him, they just dont follow your moral outrage that he's a cancer and influencer on the rest of the roster and his penalty should reflect potential 'health of the team'. He should be proportionately punished for his part in the murder (severity of that punishment isnt yours or mine to dictate), his position within the roster should be dictated by those within the roster the same way his position in society is determined by the law and his position in NFL is determined by Goodell.

If you set a double standard based on draft pedigree, you basically let players know that if you are fairly highly drafted or have talent then you get almost unlimited chances to figure it out.

From all indications, the guy had first round talent, but heavy character questions regarding his future football career. Just cut him and wish him well with the next organization.

You could be right, but it seems very unlikely that they've been sitting on this for weeks, and just now arrest the guys and declare Joseph a person of interest. I don't know when the video first came out, but I'm guessing someone recognized him, and that's the only reason he's talking to the police.

He already has demonstrated that his behavior (personal choices) can negatively affect his availability. You can bet on at least 6 games via exempt list or straight suspension.

I don't know if Jerry plans to have to babysit, or if he just gives benefit of the doubt that these guys will grow up on their own, once they're responsible for their own lives. By then, he has too much invested to let them go.

I agree on principle but the fact of the matter is that the ever growing crop of players are and will be problem children so assembling a team of adults is almost impossible.

the lesson to our FO is to give one strike and done instead of experiments like Randy Gregory. I don’t envy any current GMs job and the NBA is even worse. The lunatics are running the asylum.

I would buy into that frame of thinking if it paid off. He has the same loyalty to players that are a risk due to injury. We get a bargain with a bunch of baggage. It's a bad way to build a roster as we have noticed since the salary cap came to be.
