1. No, I just enjoy football and the Cowboys are my team.

2. Slightly, I follow the team closely and I matters.

3. Yes, But I get over it either way by mid week.

4. Are you kidding? ( I'ts a big deal man!)

5. My whole week is good or bad based on a win or loss. ( no exceptions)
I am still upset over the Green Bay loss in our last game last year!! Go Cowboys

There was a time when the players were loyal to their team and truly hated their rivals. Now, the players are loyal to their team, to a degree, but they are more loyal to their contract/wallet. It's not the same. Harvey Martin would not have been caught dead in a Commanders uniform for any amount of money.
I had the privilege to see, hear and experience that growing up. That's why some of us older guys flipped out when a certain RB asked Michael Vick for his autograph at midfield. No one sent us a memo saying your generation has hung it up and it's mostly business now. A lot of these guys now don't even really like football they are either just good at it or it pays the bills. So much Fantasy football these days I think that concept has completely taken over the mind set of this generation. I was asked last night to join a league this year and I gave the same response I have for years "I can't...my team would have to be all Cowboys." I guess that's stubborn, close minded old man for ya....

It completely ruins my week. I can't watch highlight shows and can't read the paper ( keep in mind I live in NYC ). Im 44 and it's sad that a loss still bothers me. I hate it.

It definitely depends on the season.

After Romo went down in 2015 I knew we were doomed so everything after that was "meh" for me. I had a small, SMALL, source of hope inside of me but it was quickly shattered with Weeden.
Our 2016 run losses didn't hurt as much because not only were they few and far between but you have to expect a few bumps a long the way.

However, if we lose an important game or a close game we should have won, yeah, it can tend to bother me (for a few days). What is funny is my wife knows it. I can walk in the house and she instanly picks up on my energy, "Cowboys lost eh?" or "Looks like the Boys won"? haha, yup.

It gets shorter every year. It used to bother me for 3 days..now its down to about 2 hours. Check back with me in 5 years.

For sure like going to work more when they win. Just knowing I don't have to hear a bunch of crap after a loss.

All wins and losses are not created equal. It doesn't always happen, but a particularly tasty win or a crushing loss where a lead is blown can totally affect my week.

I'm not proud, but it's true.

I have to admit, I really enjoy the wins, losses bother me but not as much as they used too. I don't know if my expectations are lower or I have just realized that there are more important things in life.
Yeah, this.
I've grown up.
My wife would say "its about time"

It does depend on the game though.
Beating division rivals still gets me giddy.

Grown up perspective of lows and highs fully kicked in when I lost my best friend to sudden brain cancer and then having kids of my own.....clearly added a new perspective to my life.

As for football (almost unimaginably irrelevant compared to the other stuff), but....
That 2014 playoff loss at GB changed me even more...permanently.

Still LOVE the game and the Cowboys.
Looking forward to that next title!
That will do

I no longer allow myself any emotional attachment to players. Today, its all about personal promotion and money. I cheer for the Cowboys...not individual players or the present ownership.
It a little harder to root for individual players with free agency. I still love the Cowboys, but how nice was it to root for Roger, Randy, Tony, Too Tall, Harvey, cliff, drew and of course Tom etc. older fans don't need the last names.

You ain't kiddin. Its what brought me to the Cowboys and football. The consistency...the certainty that the Doomsday Defense would be on the field the next season. That was the foundation of Cowboy football.

This is definitely part of it.

The younger generations simply have no idea what it was like to have an NFL team stay together for 10 or more years. And to have the same coaching staff for at least that long or longer. Or the heated rivalries that grew out of that. As soon as someone wins a SB now, its like, can you do it again? On the same day that SB was won. Its like everything that lead up to it. And the accomplishment itself, means nothing. All that matters is what happens next. 10 minutes after the event its already old news and nobody cares.

I simply do not have the time to keep up with the revolving door of players and coaches anymore. The NFL stands for "Not For Long".

I guess its the way of the world. Change. Don't think what's happening, in this particular case, is a good one.

But I know that's just me. I'm sure the younger generations are fine with it all.
