Golden Tate's hit on Sean Lee

Any notion that there should have been retaliation ignores that a significant player out of a future game because of suspension would be more harmful than just running by your guy.

In baseball they retaliate and it is accepted to a degree. Goodell doesn't play baseball.

That's true. I should have toned it down a bit. But, walking over to him and pushing him and getting in his face is okay too. What's better is making them look like fools and winning.

he didn't hit Ware late.

I think Ware pushed him wayyyyy too hard while he was on the ground. He was way too rough on that guy.

lol OHHHHH so that was toughness? Throwing theball all around the field on the sorry Lions secondary. Thats tough! lmao ok buddy. Like I said, you guys are just mad. We did get beat in the trenches. Hell, we punked the Giants in the trenches in the second half. It happens.

No, stepping up and not letting a team punk you is toughness. Controlling the other team and out playing them, being more physical is toughness.

I understand you have a hard time comprehending things so just keep responding to me and I'll keep repeating it. Maybe you'll figure it out after a couple of rounds.

i love d-ware, but how do you see that happen and just walk by? for god's sakes i wish haley would instill some of his meanness in him.

Perhaps Ware saw the flag and (understandably) assumed it was for Tate's painfully obvious illegal block? Under those circumstances, only an idiot would retaliate and risk negating a penalty on the other team.

What Ware couldn't foresee was that these refs knew even less about the NFL rules than your average CZ poster does.

Why would anyone think college officials would call that? They don't call that sissy **** in college, or high school, or junior high, or youth football.

Sorry, I guess I'm a little old school - penalty for a block by a 195lb WR against a 250lb middle LB??? Serious???

Article 8[re: unnecessary roughness] (f) states in pertinent part:

"If a player uses any part of his helmet (including the top/crown and forehead/”hairline” parts) or facemask to butt, spear, or ram an opponent violently or unnecessarily. Although such violent or unnecessary use of the helmet and facemask is impermissible against any opponent, game officials will give special attention in administering this rule to protecting those players who are in virtually defenseless postures . . "

and, I'm pretty sure that's exactly what that clown Tate did....

Now, one may not like that rule; one may think fans, like me, who wish it would've been enforced re: Tate spearing Lee, are 'soft', or we 'want to put flags on them' or some other nonsense, but I don't think one could reasonably say it wasn't a violation of that rule.....

The OP's point was not about whether it was legal or not, but whether this team has the lower parts to do something about a leader getting rocked.

Have you actually seen any cfb recently? The refs there are even more protective of the wrs than the NFL is.

Why is it "put a dress on em" when it's the other team but when we get hit it's "well that was just mean"?

in 2012 its one game we got punked and we punked the Giants week 1. Comprehend that it is week 2 dude.

Re the Bruce Carter foul

Mike Pereira ‏@MikePereira
The call for the late hit out of bounds was not a foul. RT @twlr3: was that a legal hit on Lee in Dallas game?

Re the hit on Sean Lee

Mike Pereira ‏@MikePereira
The hit on Lee is an illegal blindside block. Lee is considered defenseless, which means you can't lower your head & hit in head/neck area

On a blindside block the player is defenseless and you can't lead with your helmet no matter where you hit him.

Mike Pereira ‏@MikePereira
I would think so. RT @CamT6: @MikePereira will golden tate get fined?

Interesting. A former head of officiating saying it wasn't a legal block. Damn what a dummy for knowing the rules of the NFL.

I cover high school sports, and I see that hit every game. It is illegal, too bad cause that's real football there.

Not a cheap shot. Lee was in the play should he expect not to be blocked?

He went to his head it was a cheap shot and should have been the penalty. If you don't understand that you don't understand what you're watching.

This season in college football you would not only get the penalty, but also be suspended for the next game.

It was an illegal crack back block and he led with his helmet. Amazing how many people don't know basic rules.
