If Colt does not go down, who are the National Champs today?

Wonder if Mack remembered those games vs Oklahoma and Nebraska.

Hey Mack, Alabama is eons better than eithe rof those two teams.

I don't know about that. OU with Bradford would have given this Bama team a run IMO. Nebraska is definately a better defensive team IMO. I think either of those teams could have played with Bama but we'll never know either way.

Not sure that makes sense either...Bama could have easily lost to Tennessee (Prob should have) and Texas is eons better than them...:)

Colt's leadership alone would have won that game for Texas...IMO...

Personally I thought Bama was going to win before the game started....

With Colt, UT seemed to have winning game plan going in. They may have won. And OU and Nebraska were to Texas as Tennessee and Auburn were to Alabama---it slices both ways. Close games that were won between 1 and 3 months ago.

Because of 1 series on a short field? Are you serious?

Bradford was knocked out of that Texas game though wasnt he? Wasnt it early in that game too?

The point was Texas greatly struggled against two teams that had quality defenses, the only two teams they faced all year with a quality defense. Alabama ranked above those two teams and is probably going to put 4 or 5 guys into the NFL this year from their defense.

I agree with this....it would not be a gameplan that would win it....it would be his leadership...

Coach Saban did a terrible job preparing his team for this game. I think Texas would've won had Colt not gotten injured. I really wish they wouldn't give this kids a month off before they play the biggest game in their lives.

That same leadership that ran out the clock in the Big 12 Champ game and got bailed out by a replay?

The 1st quarter was extremely odd, from taking the ball, to the fake punt (I thought it was a dumb call, but it WOULD have worked had the punter thrown the ball another yard or two downfield) and starting out the game with so much passing, and then basically packing it in to start the 2nd half believing the game was over, but I dont know that he did a "terrible job" of preparing them. We also have no idea what their plan was defensively, because as he said they had done nothing to prepare for anyone other than McCoy. They had basically nothing to go off for the other guy.

Alabama ranked above those two teams in total yards but not in Yards Per Play or Scoring Defense. Nebraska is ranked higher in both of these defensive stats and the Nebraska defense played 113 more snaps then did Alabama's. B

Bradford was knocked out of the Texas game early but how does that play into how good Nebraska or OU are and if they could play with Alabama?

How do you define "Bailed out"? If you mean, replay corrected a call that was incorrect, then yes, I guess your definition would be correct.

Just had to say that I happened to hear the guy on Norm's show who thought the hit was dirty. Let's just say that he sounded a little light in the loafers, and like he'd never seen a football game before. "But Nooorm, he hit him sooo hard right with his helmet... And right on the shoulder!...."

That's one reason Norm's show is lame. I think they let some of these awful calls on the air on purpose.

Alot of people dont believe they "corrected a call that was incorect" though.

Well, "alot of people" would be wrong.

Nebraska didnt play Alabama's schedule either.

As for the Bradford comment, you basically intimated that Texas could have handled OU with Bradford, but not Alabama. So I responded by noting that Bradford had basically nothign to do with the outcome of OU/Texas because he hardly played. OU was incredibly mediocre this year.

I'm sure on any given day any team "can play with" a certain team, but I doubt you'd find anybody, and certainly not a number of neutral people who'd agree with you that OU or Nebraska were anywhere near as good as Alabama this year.

Well, the replay was pretty concise. There definately was time left on the clock and the photographic proof is pretty indisputable. I guess I would have to wonder why anybody might think that the call was wrong?

Got a link to the video of it? Or this still pic?

I honestly dont remember anything other than when I saw it live. I do know it seems to be only Texas fans that think the call was absolutely correct.

and only the Longhorn fans agree right?

The video replay and photographic evidence agree. Everyone else is inconsequential.
