To be honest, I could care less about the 6th rounder. With our drafting ability, that is camp fodder only

The big thing is we get rid of a guy who was useless in DC without any significant cap damage. No 5 million dollar hit or whatever

That is the part I care about. I could care less if we got a conditional 18th round pick in 2020

I hope your front office really believes low round picks are completely useless.

I want to hear from reliable sources what kind of total hit Washington takes from this. Everything and not just this year.

Somehow I can't think it's a good thing to throw a lot of money at a player who has limited playing time then is 'traded' away.

Sounds like the FO is doing great.

Somehow that FO has 2 playoff wins since your last playoff win

However this move was pretty god awful. Results speak for themselves

Learn and move on, that simple

I mean, we could have traded two 1st round picks for a useless WR

JLC in typical fashion does not have all the facts. For those of you who call him a Commanders homer you sure do like to use him

Read the Clayton article. He actually has contract figures. JLC is still a bit out of the loop, which is no surprise considering he has been scooped by ES all offseason

Claytons artiocle mentions the 5 million dollar roster bonus NOT the signing bonus that has already been paid and will accelerate into the cap

Show me any source saying there is 0 cap hit and they dont have to take the hit for the sign bonus that he already recieved

For you Big D fan, since you didn't see it the first time

Thank you for showing me something that says exactly nothing about the cap hit they take for trading him

You all do know that a playoff win that doesn't result in the SB trophy is irrelevant to the majority of Cowboys' fans?

It's great that recent playoff wins are your relative standard for greater success. Of course, I could also claim that my standard for greater success is a better winning percentage in recent history. That would mean your 5-11 team last year sucked compared to our 9-7 team, but that's not relevant to me.

Nothing less than a football shaped trophy that shines the same color as one of our team colors is satisfying.

If you want to go back how far do you want to go? Washington doesn't have much on Dallas.

If you're going to look at playoff wins lets start back in 1960.

Even Jerry drafts better than you. Of course you guys have what....4 picks this year. Maybe 5 now.

You guys keep drafting thru FA. You'll never get out of jail until you stop. But that's all right with me. I'd love to get a 10 game winning streak.

skins have actually been better than dallas- overall and playoff-wise -since danny took over.

or before. eh, that doesnt work for ya. sorry.

you'd get arguments from your own board about that one. about a 20 page thread last week as i recall.

you'd have to win 1 first for anything to qualify as a "streak".

I believe... but I havent finished reading the new CBA (Lazy, I know), that the Commanders, can split the cap hit for Archuleta if they so choose.

They will incur an accelerated cap hit based on his $5M SB, (which I believe was only extended to a 4-5 year spread hit) that would leave the balance between 1.25M per year and 1M per year. That said the cap hit could be anywhere from 1.875M X two years, or 2M X two years. Or between a 3.75M cap hit for one year or a 4M cap hit for one year.

BTW - I think its silly that all of these discussions end up getting to the pissing matches about what each team has done recently or previously. It all boils down to what are they doing now to improve the team.

Would they consider making Archuleta gain a few pounds then moving him back to LB like he was in college? He's pretty good against the run.

Cant imagine that the Bears could use him at LB with the 4-3/cover 2 that they run, its not like they have terrible LBs or depth.

another bad example. (congratulations- you're 3 for 3 on one page alone). you'll recall newman was almost considered a bust before he broke out his third year. this will be rogers third year.

Stop pulling recollections out of that Burgundy and Gold colostomy bag you like to call Extremeskins. Terrance Newman was not 'almost considered a bust'--whatever that means--anywhere else.

typical stupid Redstink fan logic

you can't trade a player w/o incurring some kind of cap hit

That "useless WR" actually caught 151 passes in 48 games with the Cowboys, or an average of slightly over 50 catches per 16 games played... he had 12 TDs in that span...

Not great production for a WR that cost the team two first round draft picks, but certainly better production than the Skins got out of the player they traded an 06 3rd round pick and an 07 4th round pick for last year... you know, the one who gave you 23 catches and 0 TDs last year...

Now THAT'S "useless"... :lmao:

You still have to pay the remaining 4 million of his 5 million dollar signing bonus from last year. THAT is acceleratted into the cap

Mea culpa I was wrong

We take that cap hit this year (the accelerated bonus)

However we don't have any of that 7.2 million which would have been incurred next year or after a June 1st cap hit

Basically the way his contract was structured he was either owed that 5 million dollar bonus, or his salary the next 3 years was guranteed. The Commanders got out of THAT 5 million

But you are correct, the original 5 million dollar bonus accelerated and gave us the hit of about 4 million this year

My bad

Between last season and this season (contract spending on Arch) the Skins paid 10 million dollars for the 2007 6th round pick!!! Thats funny!
