There is too much going on here to process.

If those that say this will be reduced to 2 games are right, I say the Cowboys and Zeke should issue a statement that goes something like "this is complete BS, here are the facts why, but we will just eat this bowl of nonsense and Zeke is excited to destroy the Cardinals defense in Week 3, may God Bless America except that donut Goodell"

I'd be in court tomorrow asking for an injunction
I'm all for punishing bad offenders but the evidence seems clear she lied and the NFL just glossed that over
Make a stand zeke
Otherwise players are really opened up for blackmail since proof isn't a big concern obviously

If you read the entire six page letter, it does say that he will be subject to possible banishment if he has any more run-ins. Also was told he may need to have counseling if deemed necessary.

They go on to say they want him to have a successful career....which is bull.

You have to love a guy who has basically told people to "read the letter" and then turns out, he may not have actually read the full letter himself.

LOL.

My thing is if he's not guilty of anything why is there any suspension on the table if he wins his appeal?

For what it's worth, I worked with Pater Harvey at my old law firm, and can attest that he is a thoughtful, reasonable, decent guy whose judgment and skill in my opinion are beyond reproach.

I thought it was very interesting that the NFL made him available for an extensive call with the media today in which he thoroughly and methodically described the process. Most critical, in my opinion, is the fact that he made it clear that the league had substantial, highly-relevant evidence that was not available to the prosecutors in Ohio -- namely, the metadata associated with the multitude of text and email communications that Zeke and the accuser (among others) engaged in on or around the dates of the alleged incidents. These metadata reportedly confirmed the accuser's timeline, and did not coincide with Zeke's.

For me, personally, this indicates that Zeke is dead to rights here, and plainly engaged in some kind of physical abuse. It also means to me that his appeal will not materially affect the length of the suspension, if it does at all.

Sad to say it, but whatever you think about the process, justice was almost certainly served here.
If this is true that's a dangerous precedent and should be reviewed at a legal level.

I read the report. It doesn't refute what I said.

For one, the events on the 22nd clearly call into question her credibility. If she lied about the events of the 22nd, any logical person can conclude it's possible she lied about the other nights as well. Further, we have a signed witness statement refuting the claim that the only incident she got into was just someone pulling her hair. Again, any logical person would again conclude there is a real credibility issue here.

Here's essentially what the league has said. They have claimed this girl has injuries and while they can't prove with certainty Elliott did it, they believe Elliott did it and it's up to Elliott to prove he didn't do it and explain away her injuries.

Here's a key quote:

"there is no dispute that you and Ms. Thompson were together on the dates identified, and no evidence to suggest that anyone else could have caused those injuries."

What the NFL is saying is we know you were with Ms. Thompson those days and we believe those injuries are from those days and now it's up to you to tell us how she got those bruises if she didn't get them from you.

That's absurd.

Even the DA concluded something happen and the medical evidence concluded that but didn't think he could get a conviction in a court of law on contradicting statements, that's HE SAID<, SHE SAID.. the NFLPA and Zeke's lawyers are the one contending she lied........The NFL doesn't need to meet that burden....this is NOT a criminal court, this is the league code of conduct policy where you only need 50.1% belief he did it, END OF STORY

If I'm Jerry in looking for every way I can to screw the Goodell and the marketing of the NFL over. This is getting ridiculous, the cowboys get screwed every chance the league gets, matter of fact I'd be on the horn with cable to start my own tv channel and screw the NFL network. Compete with this female dogs. Freaking freaking freaks.

No, for the same reason the league came down with the heavy hammer... You know what's worse than saying there isn't enough credible evidence to convict someone? To question the validity of a person who is claiming to be the victim of DV/Sexual Assault. And no, I'm not trying to be cute saying that..

The press is afraid of the #yesallwomen types

Then you ask yourself how of this you think can stand up in the court of law, especially with witnesses under oath. Yes I know the NFL rules of conduct apply different standard but once it's filed in court ..........different ball game.

If Elliott is indeed innocent of what he has been accused of, I hope that Thompson is held accountable for it. The legal system didn't follow through on it, but I would hope that he would civilly sue her for defamation of character.

If he is indeed guilty of what he was accused of, then six games is a pittance. If I owned the team, and he was indeed guilty, he'd never play another down for my team again.

With the statement from his lawyer, it seems as if he will follow through and fight this. Good for him if he's innocent. This kind of crap can't be allowed to happen if it's based on a lie. Hope he's telling the truth here.

Ezekiel Elliott Suspension Letter Details Actions, Warns of Potential Future Ban

A letter sent to Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott by the National Football League concerning his six-game suspension detailed alleged domestic violence toward former girlfriend Tiffany Thompson and warned he could face severe discipline for future incidents.

Jason La Canfora‏ of CBS Sports passed along portions of the letter Friday, including a statement from the NFL that read: "On multiple occasions... you used physical force against Ms. Thompson."

Ian Rapoport‏ of NFL Network noted the league told Elliott any more violations "may result in your suspension or potential banishment."

Mike Garafolo of NFL.com added the letter cited three examples of photographic evidence that showed the use of "physical force." In addition, Tom Pelissero‏ of NFL Network spotlighted comments from the case's prosecutor, who said "we generally believed her for all of the incidents."

The league can still hand down punishment for allegations, even if charges aren't filed for a legal case as was the situation with Elliott, per Todd Archer of ESPN.com. ESPN's Adam Schefter noted the running back is "expected" to file an appeal of the six-game ban.

In July 2016, Kate Hairopoulos of the Dallas Morning News passed along a statement from Stacy Elliott, the Cowboys star's father, about the situation.

"The reported allegations and Internet postings regarding our son are completely false," Stacy Elliott said. "Ezekiel has done nothing wrong. The police have investigated this matter, and eyewitnesses have verified the lack of any wrongdoing. The actual evidence in this matter clearly indicates what the real motivation was behind the police being called. We are confident that when the truth comes to light, it will reveal the falsity of these claims."

After Columbus, Ohio prosecutors opted against pursuing charges against Elliott last September, he said he was never overly concerned because he "didn't do anything wrong."

"I'm a target, that's what I've realized from all of this," he told reporters. "I've got to conduct myself that way so I can not have any distractions and I can just focus on ball."

If the NFL suspension is upheld on appeal, Elliott wouldn't be eligible to return until Week 8 when the Cowboys visit the Washington Commanders. They have a bye in Week 6.

If he takes it to court maybe? But appeals are appearently quicker. Brady stretched it out a season didnt he?
That's what I was trying to remember and can't think of it how it all went down. I'm not sure of the different options, legalities, etc.
