Dak is not the answer

It wasn't like Wentz played good. He was pretty mediocre.

I hate how we use our Z-Receivers in this system. Drives me insane.

I'm sorry, but what? I think Linehan has done a pretty damn good job building this offense for Dak, especially with the dink and dunk stuff. It's not like we are constantly forcing him to look deep.

You guys have some seriously low expectations for a QB.

It’s not low expectations.

He is in his second year.

Most QB’s in the league need time to develop. Most QB’s are nowhere near their peak ability in their second year. He is a young player, young players have their ups and downs. But the guy has had one of the best starts to a career in the history of the NFL by basically every measurable number.

To throw him away in his second year would be stupid.

Yeah he needs to grow and get better. But so does every second year QB.

I have seen franchise QB’s have plenty of clunker games. Including Romo. I loved Romo and am not saying Dak is on his level yet. But some of the comments around here give the impression that Romo constantly carried the team on his back and lit the world on fire. New flash: Romo had games just as bad as Dak’s game last night.

The question is. What the hell is our QB coach doing to help Dak? His mechanics almost seem worse this season than last year.

Smh, this is a timing based offense predicated on WR's being in their spots. Those WR's aren't most of the time. If you watched Kurt Warner yesterday he broke the WR's down....it was bad......

Again, you have seriously low expectations for a QB. We have built in rollouts, play actions, read option plays. We even do more screens, and short routes that sadly end up a few yards short of the first down marker.

Dak did just fine in this system last year - it has been catered to him. Anyone saying otherwise is doing their best to take blame off of one guy and placing it on everyone else.

Agree, but I think that it directly related to him being beaten into the turf over and over again. The fact is we have replaced 40 to 50 percent of our O line this year and the new guys aren't up to what the old guys provided last year.

Except he's not developing, he's regressing. Bit of a difference.

That could be the case also.

It’s two years. And despite “regressing” he is still having a solid season overall.

I’m just saying he isn’t there yet, But I
Think it’s foolish to throw in the towel, given what we have seen he is capable of.

Saw on twitter that Dak’s career QB rating vs NFC East teams is 76.

Was surprised and discouraged.

He has a very small sample size against the NFC East teams (Not even two full seasons yet) so having a really bad game will skew those numbers a bit I believe.

Seriously after one terrible game? Good lord the amount of over reaction to the QB position by Cowboys fans is absolutely on the most insane levels of stupid I've seen from any fan base.

Dak played horrible but I'm trying found out which QB would look good with THAT o line. Brady would like like a middle school QB behind the line the last two weeks. Wentz was looking pretty bad last year because the line was not giving him time to throw the ball. This year it's the Cowboys line that is not giving Dak enough time to throw the ball. Dak was sacked 10 times in the first eight games and now like 12 in the last two. I think that the o line is to blame for the offensive struggles. Now Dak should be playing better and he has missed a few throws when the pocket was clean. I think the hits are turning him into Derek Carr and he's already thinking about running before he has to.

Even the first eagles game last year. He played poorly for 3 quarters. But then was lights out in the 4th quarter and OT to get the win.

His overall stats from that game don’t look impressive at all, but if you went and re-watched the game. You would say to yourself that Dak’s play down the stretch was a huge factor in the win.

Sorry, but this is just looking at raw statistics.

You don't just brush over regression like it's not a big deal. It is a big deal and it helped us get our butts kicked last night in an important divisional game. Second year players don't get a pass on regression, they don't need to be perfect, but they need to be showing they are progressing.

Dak is not showing that.

You’re right. Good Players never have rough patches in their careers........

How silly of me.
